Dear all Brothers and Sisters,
Jay Gajanan !!!
Everything we understand in our lives according to our “own level of Consciousness”. According to this “Law of Nature” we understand the meanings of the words also. So, let us try to understand the Ultimate Meaning of the Mantra “Gani Gana Ganaat Bote” according to our own level of Consciousness….!
To understand this we should first read all these ovis from Adhayay Nine as….
In this the following Ovi is most important as….
“म्हणजे मना समजे नित्य । जीव हा ब्रह्मास सत्य । मानूं नको तयाप्रत । निराळा त्या तोचि असे ॥२९॥“
Means, we always should understand that the “Jeeva”, the Transcendental Consciousness, the “Atma”, which is the “Self of Everyone”, and the “Brahma”, the “Eternal Transcendental Consciousness”, the “Param Atma” is the Same or One. Do not consider it different, it is the Same and One.
This is the absolutely True meaning of ‘गणी गण गणांत बोते’…
Now, let us try to understand it word by word…
गणी: Gani means Consider, or Understand as Same and One…
गण: Gana means “Jeeva”, or “Jeevatma” the Transcendental Consciousness, the “Atma”, the “Self of Everyone”….
गणांत: Ganaat means In That or Same as Eternal Transcendental Consciousness, which is “Param Atma”….
बोते: Bote means “Meditate” on this, and then “Experience this Ultimate Reality”, and then “understand” this….
Here, in this Mantra the word “Bote” is the Extremely Important. We must “Meditate” on this Ultimate Reality and Experience it and then Realize it and Understand it, instead of doing the “Jaap” of this Mantra. Our “Shree” Never recommended to do the “Jaap” or “Chanting” of this Mantra, He said “Meditate, Experience, Realize and then Understand this and use it in our daily lives. Once we experienced it and realized it then it comes in our lives spontaneously, we do not have to do anything extra for this”.
The same thing has been taught by Shree Adi Shankaracharya in 788 A.D. as…
Brahma Satyam, Jagan Mithya, “Jivo Brahmaiva Na Parah” |
Anena Vedyam Sacchastram Iti Vedanta Dindimah || 20 ||
Means “Brahman is Real, The Universe is Mithya (as it cannot be categorized as either Real or Unreal). The Jiva is Brahman itself and not different. This should be understood as the correct Shastra, this is proclaimed by Vedanta.”
I think, from the above Mantra our “Shree” has created the this “Gani Gana Ganant Bote” Mantra and made it understandable to us and taught us in simple Marathi language.
What should we understand from this mantra ? Our own “Atma” and “Param Atma” is the same. Because our own “Atma” is like a “Drop of Water”, and the “Param Atma” is like an “Ocean of Water”. But the “Drop” is from the “Same Water” which is in the “Ocean”. Because the “Water is Same”. The “Water of Ocean” and the “Water of Drop” is the “same” because the “Drop” is from the “Ocean”. At the same time we can say as the Ocean is Created by the Drop, Drop, Drop… and there are Infinite Drops of the same Water. So, the Ocean is like an “Infinity” because there are “Infinite” Drops in the Ocean, and at the same time the “Drop” is like a “Point” as the “Point” is from the same “infinity”. So, this is how we can understand that the “Atma” and “Param Atma” is the same.
In this Mantra, if fact there is a “Process of Understanding”. And this Process “Must be Happened”. Without happening the “Process” one is NOT able to understand this Ultimate Reality of Mantra. The Process is “Reaching” to the “Atma”, so that, we can “Establish” into the “Atma”, and then “Understanding” the “Atma”. The Process of Understanding will be happened Automatically, Effortlessly and Spontaneously once we “Reach” and “Establish” into the “Atma”. So, What is important ? Reaching is most Important. And to Reach to the “Atma”, the “Transcendental Meditation” is the Easiest and Effortless way. Once we Reach to the “Atma” through the Transcendental Meditation then the Process of Understanding will starts automatically, and we will understand the “Atma”. And as we Understand the “Atma” daily in our Meditation, the same “Atma” we will be Realized and Confirmed in the Outer Life, after the Meditation, through the Innumerable activities of our daily life. And this is how we will understand the “Param Atma” the “Infinity” or the “Ocean of Activities”. This is how, we can fulfill the Intention of the Mantra “Gani Gana Ganant Bote”… !
This process of Reaching and Establishing into the “Atma”, the Transcendental Consciousness, Pure Consciousness, Absolute Silent field of Consciousness will NOT happen just by “Chanting” the Mantra, because in the “Process of Chanting” we DO NOT ALLOW our Mind to go Deeper and reach to the Transcendental field of Consciousness, which is the Absolute Silent field of consciousness. Because we have to CHANT the Mantra and Chanting is an ACTIVITY which is the Opposite value of SILENCE. Please Understand that the “Activity” is the “Opposite” of “Silent”.
We can understand this as… just imagine: the Mantra “Gani Gana Ganaat Bote” will be as “Understand that the Food is Power, The Power is in the Food, Do Not Consider it Different, as it is the Same.” Now, if we will “Chant” this Mantra even Millions of Times, Nothing will happen. But, if we will CONSUME (Eat) the Food even at ONCE, then we will Realize and Experience the “Power of Food” immediately within half an hour by feeling healthy and fresh. That is it.
Hope, this will be helpful to you to understand the Real Meaning of this Mantra and Experience it. Kindly ask without any hesitation if you do not understand anything.
May our “Shree” fulfill all your Desires and Provide Perfection, Success, Peace and Bliss to you and your family in this life…!!!
ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः । सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः ।
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु । मा कश्चित् दुःख भाग्भवेत् ॥
Wishing an Enlightened life to you... !
